New Stationary

I love writing letters which leads me to collecting lovely paper and cards. Last week, I happened to find this amazing (!!) website that does customise stationary and I couldn't resist. The artist, Meg, lets you chose your hair color, eye color, dress color, etc so that it can look just like you.

And she works super fast! I ordered earlier this week and she sent the files to me today. The stationary set comes with different formats (letters, notepads, flat cards, etc) so you can take it to your local Staples and get it printed out.

Here's what my person looks like. Isn't she the CUTEST thing?

It's a site geared towards kid's stuff so they have the cutest bowl and plate set that I bought for Baby Carson as well. I obviously made it look like him.

This is just the sample plate from her website:

Geeking out

Recently, our bus schedule changed to "provide a better user experience" ie ... less busses. Nice! I've been totally lame and have been scheduling my life around the freaking bus schedule. "Sorry, I can't stay for that extra glass of wine, the bus is coming!" It makes the commute home almost unbearable.

However, I recently discovered an app on my Android phone that is easing the pain caused by the bus - The Android Kindle APP. Essentially it turns your phone into a Kindle so that you can read books while waiting for the bus (or doing whatever else you do)! I still really enjoy going to the library and getting actual books, but when I have to lug all the work essentials and my gym bag with me, it's a shoulder saver. I have the phone with me anyways, and it helps pass the time away. There is a huge selection of books that are free to download (mostly classics). Also, it allows me to read smutty, totally inappropriate cheesy romance novels (guilty pleasure) and no one is the wiser :)

P.S. I believe it's also available for iPhones.

Dublin Marathon

Congrats to my buddies running the Dublin Marathon today! The end of the course (Mile 25) was down the street from my office so a group of us went down to cheer on our pals.

BF's Sister was running it too, but she was too fast and I mis-timed when she would show up at Mile 25 so I missed her :(

Ms. Jenny - who might be the happiest runner ever.

Ms. Mags and her BF, Gio- They were running so fast, I couldn't get a proper picture of them. :( She's the one with the black ponytail and pink top.

Ms. Michelle in the white t shirt- WOOP! :)

Reunited!

And, indeed, it feels so good! We had a CDWM dinner last Thursday and for the first time in about three months, we were ALL able to make it. AMAZING! Everyone had been off traveling the world so it was hard to get the schedules just right. However, everyone is sticking around at least until Christmas. Woop!

Here we all are (except for Sarah who is taking the picture), celebrating a beloved toaster. (Don't ask!)

CHRISTMAS!

I'm seriously already counting down the days until I get to go home. I've spent the past two holidays with BF and his family and while they are lovely, it's just not home. But the holidays are going to be nuts! I'm home for barely three days and I already have the following things lined up.

- Fly home to NH
- Drive down to NY
- Wedding dress shopping (AT KLEINFELDS!)
- Meet up with fab friends for dinner and a show, The Lion King
- Drive down to Philadelphia for the baby's baptism
- Back up to NH for more wedding dress shopping (2) & venue shopping (3)

That's from Friday to Monday only! The rest of my holiday is filled with meeting photographers, makeup and hair folks, cake tastings (Yeah!) and DJ/Band listening sesions. We hope to have everything booked and ready to go by the time I come back from my holidays.

OH, and I have to find curtains and rugs for the house (cause I hate everything that is on offer in Ireland). WHEW!

My Little Man

I can't believe how big Baby C is getting, and I haven't even met him yet! I'm missing out on all the fun :( Only 63 more days until I get to kiss his sweet, little face.

High Five!

I love baby feet. Look at his little sock/shoes. I die.

What a week!

It's been nuts at work and nuts at home this week.

Seriously,
- I attended a sales conference (2 days!)
- Met with what seemed like a thousand clients for a full day (and had to make small talk about weather for what seemed like hours)
- Was in breathing space with Bob Geldof (Part of the conference) AND... Brian Cowen (He's at my work place today and didn't reek of booze.)
- Got new wooden floors put in for the upstairs
- Hung our new fabulous map in the spare bedroom (It's large and magnetic and makes the room look like a school house)
- Bought new pillows for the guest bedroom
- Decorated the fireplace
- Got a coffee table and the MOST FAB coffee table book
- Researched wedding photographers and wedding venues
- Found an AMAZING!!!! new pole dancing studio in Bray
- Started boot camp
- Picked out new lights for the house

AND.... GREW half an INCH! I'm not kidding. We had to get measured and weighed for boot camp and I KNOW I'm five feet exactly. But apparently, I had a growth spurt in my first year of being thirty :) Woop! Fab ending to a crazy seven days.

Man City

It's been nuts these past weeks hence the lack of post. Not only has work been but we've been busy working on the house and visiting friends as well. This past weekend, BF and I headed to Manchester, England to visit with some US friends.
My friend was going on a little European tour with her BF and since he was a fan of Man City, they decided to pop into Manchester, and we agreed to meet them. FUN!

We spent the Saturday walking and around the city, doing some shopping and just sightseeing (though there weren't that many sites). They were taking the train up from London and so we met them late Saturday afternoon for drinks at an outdoor beer fest. Then we headed to the infamous Curry Mile for dinner. It was delicious and strange as well since we felt like we were in back in India (but cleaner!).

The next day we headed to the Man City/Newcastle match. We had front row seats which was fab! Not so fab, five minutes in, a Newcastle player received a nasty tackle and broke his leg right in front of us only days after my sister broke hers playing soccer. It looked soooo painful! EKKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Renewed!

I'm officially allowed to stay in Ireland for another two years. All the raucous behaviour I've been causing in the past two years hasn't banded me from working here :)

However, I'm not looking forward to going down to immigration to get my annual registration card.
